ACT Mental Health Vocational Specialist

Please note: The Care Coordinator position is for candidates who have prior experience working in the area of mental health.

F/T Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Vocational Specialist works with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive community based care management and clinical services to individuals with schizophrenia, schizoaffective or bipolar disorder.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilizes person centered practices in development of recovery plans
  • Provides on call crisis intervention by covering night time hours and weekends on a rotating basis
  • Performs vocational assessments with clients to evaluate job/volunteer readiness
  • Provides benefits counseling in coordination with clients’ vocational goals
  • Manages and assumes primary responsibility for assigned number of clinical records

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology or related Human Services field
  • 1 Year experience in vocational assessment, job exploration, and skill development working with clients with serious psychiatric diagnoses
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation
  • Prefer experience providing community based services with a multidisciplinary team
  • Prefer practical experiences in a mental health clinical or rehabilitation setting
  • Multilingual a plus
